Date	Between 1850 and 1860
Description	Sketchbook with blue cover having belonged to Alfred R. Waud. Inside front cover has inscription "Alf Waud 22 Winter St. / Boston." Waud immigrated to America from London in 1850 and worked in Boston in the 1850s. This sketchbook dates to that time. Between two pages is a ticket for the steamboat Davenport of the Northern Packet Line, perhaps used in 1866 when Waud traveled on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers on assignment for Harper's Weekly and inserted in the book as a souvenir. Contains sketches of persons, boats, and the New England sea shore.
