Transcript/Translation	1803, December 7 PROCES-VERBAL OF THE DELIVERY OF THE FORTS OF PLAQUEMINES TO GILBERTO LEONARD, FRIGATE CAPTAIN AND AGENT OF THE FRENCH REPUBLIC, BY PIERRE-JOSEPH FAVROT, COMMANDANT OF PLAQUEMINES, FORT ST. PHILIP. DS. 3pp. French. Richmond. By virtue of the orders transmitted to us by Citizen Laussat, Colonial Prefect and Commissioner of the French Government, dated the 9th and 10th of the present month, we are to repair to Plaquemines Fort, on the lower bank of the river, to take possession of it from the hands of the Commandant for his Catholic Majesty, all power to that effect having been transmitted to us by the authority he [Laussat] has received from First Consul Bonaparte. Consequently, we presented ourselves before the said fort and were accompanied by militiamen from both the city and the lower bank of the river: Mr. Gentilly, their captain, Lieutenant Commander Auliver, Ensign Leonard, Jr., and Citizens Nicholas Roche and Achille Sigur.
