Gentlemen!
We beg your reference to our last respects 28 ulto : and hoping that you will have made us some shipments this fall, we continue our advices and beg to assure you of our wishes to continue a pleasing correspondence with your respectable establishment. Kentucky Tobacco sold lately at 8.8 3/4 but the demand is not very brisk just now, other articles are much as [per ?] quotations at [food?]: and if the adopted measures come to be known and executed they will no doubt occasion some stir in prices owing to the many difficulties of conveyances. As [?] our exports, prices are generally low and a cargo of Linnens [Saitouck?], as well as Gin, [cases?]: might be laid in at a cheap rate, so that we wish you may have determined as you projected to send the [Lalona?] here to our address. It would be very acceptable to us if you could influence your friends at New Orleans to correspond with us, and to consign produce to us for returns. Nay we would not object to allow you on such consignments thus procured through your interference and recommendation, a certain compensation of 1/4 say one fourth part of the commissions charged by us, which if agreable to you may lead to a now lively intercourse between us and we [arfuse] you that we will do all on our [diou] to secure & justify the confoence [confidence] bestowed in us. Happy to hear from you we refer to the quotations & remain
Your nobled Servts
Wilhem and Willink
[i.e. and Jan Willink]
