Messrs. Meeker Williamson Patton Amsterdam 16 Sept. 1807
New Orleans
Quadruplicate
Gentlemen!
Being constantly deprived of any of your esteemed
favors, we have to confirm our last respects 24 July, and to confirm our
advices, which we hope may be acceptable. The stocks of produce here are very
inconsiderable; when wi [sic.] reflect that circumstances being likely to prevent any
supplies of consequence, they will soon be followed by the winter, and that in
that interval the greatest part will be disposed of so that the early [Spring?]
arrivals will most apparently come to a good market for profitable sales,
we submit therefore to your attention to send us without delay one or
two cargoes of produce which may be here early next year at a time that
generally brisk as you'll see by the quotations to which we refer and in the
expectation to hear from you subscribe very respectfully Your Mo Hu Serv.
