   Messieurs, 
	J'ail´ honneur devous adresser 
oi-inclus un extrait du re'gistre des délibérations  
de l' Université d' Orléans, en date du 
25 de ce mois, parlequel vous verrez quevous 
etes nommés administrateurs des écoles 
publiques à établir dans le Comté des  
Attacapas. 
	Vous recevier en meme tems une 
copie de l'acte de la législature, intitulé 
"Acte Supplémentaire á l'acte intitulé; acte 
pour l'établissement d'une Université dans 
le Territoire d'Orléans. 
	Cette loi détermine le montant dela  
Somme affectée à l'etablissement des écoles  
pour chaque Comté. Vous y trouverer aussi 
le détail des fonctions importantes qui vous  
sont attribueés, et que certainement, messieurs, 
vous remplirer avec le plus grand zéle.  
J'oserais[?] répondre d'avance que vos travaux 
seront couronnés du plus heureux succés; 
et que vous aurer la douce satisfaction de  
voir la jeunesse de notre pays conserver la  
pureté de ses moeurs, en meme tems qu'elleI have the honor of addressing to you

of the University of Orleans, on the date of the  
25th of this month by which you will see that you  
were appointed administrators of the public  
schools established in the County of the  
Attakapas. 
You receive at the same time a 
copy of the act of the legislature, entitled  
"Act Supplementary to the act entitled; Act  
for the establishment of a University in  
the Territory of Orleans. 
This law determines the amount of the  
sum assigned to the establishment of the schools  
for each county. you will find here also 
the detail of the important functions which are attributed  
to you, and certainly, messiers, 
you will fulfill with the greatest zeal. 
I dare to reply in advance that your work  
will be crowned of much happy success;  
and that you have the sweet satisfaction of
