Dr. Emi) Kotcher, professor
I and head of microbiology for the
Louisiana State University
School of Medicine in Shreveport,
will deliver a paper at the
| Eighth Annual International Con-gress
of Tropical Medicine and
Malaria in Tehran, Iran, Sept.
7-15.
Some 1,000 doctors and resear-chists
from all over the world
are expected at the meeting to
: discuss latest findings in tropical
infections. The congress meets
[every five years.
Dr. Kotcher will deliver a
paper on "Community Treatment
With Thiahendazole for Control
of Intestinal Helminth."
Dr. Kotcher was professor of
'medical parasitology and chief of
the Parasitology Section at the
LSU International Center for!
Medical Research and Training
in San Jose, Costa Rica before
coming here last year.
While at the medical center, he:
did research al the Hospital San
Juan de Dios and taught al the
University of Costa Rica School
nf Medicine.
His research there was con-cerned
with the role of intestinal
parasites in the malabsorption
syndrome, the intestinal worms
protozoa, and the correlation of.
clinical, parasitological and sero-.
logical data in amebiasis.
