LSU TOUR—Members of the board of
supervisors of Louisiana State Univers-ity
toured local facilities today prior to
a scheduled meeting of the board to-morrow
at the Captain Shreve Hotel.
Included in the tour were Confederate
Memorial Medical Center, LSU-Shreve-port,
Veterans Administration Hospital

$912,980 Budget
For LSU Branch
The Louisiana State Univer-sity's
board of supervisors,
meeting in Shreveport today
and tomorrow, has approved a
budget of S912.9SO for LSU-Shreveport
in 1967-68 and of
$175,000 for the Shreveport
School of Medicine.
The LSU-Shreveport budget
provides $168,850 for adminis-tration
and general expenses;
$35,450 for staff b e n e f i t s ;
$374,050 for research, instrue-tion
and extension; $151,966,
library; $81,064, operation and
maintenance and p h y s i c a l
plant service, and $1,600 for
student aid.
State appropriations account
for $840,000 of the new budget,
with the remaining $72,980
expected to come from student
lees.
The budget for the Shreve-port
School of Medicine, using
facilities at Confederate Memo-rial
Hospital and the Veterans
Administration Hospital, pro-vides
$141,375, salaries: $6,088,
staff benefits; $14,256, supplies
and expense; $5,681, travel,
and $7,600, equipment.
An application has been filed
with the Board of Liquidation
for an additional $100,000 for
the medical school.
The LSU board of supervi-sors
was to begin a tour of the
LSU-Shreveport campus, Con-federate
Memorial and VA
Hospitals and the recently
acquired Linwood Apartments
at 11 a.m. today. Tomorrow's
meeting will begin at 9 a.m. at
the Captain Shreve Hotel and
will include various committee
reports.
