LSU-Shreveport Medical
College Bulletin Ready

The LSU Medical Center Bulle-tin
for 1970-71 is now available.
The 27-page bulletin includes a
brief history of the school and an
outline of the plans for the
future.
The permanent buildings of the
school will be constructed adja-cent
to the Confederate Memo-rial
Medical Center, according to
the bulletin. These will include a
comprehensive care teaching fa-cility,
designed "to provide an
environment where students may
learn by active participating in
the care of ambulatory pa-tients,'"
and a basic and clinical
science building, which will also
house the library, the bulletin
states.
Pictured in the bulletin is the
Veterans Administration Hospi-tal,
which will be the location of
temporary preclinical facilities
of the Louisiana University
School of Medicine in Shreveport.
The bulletin also includes a
basic calendar for 1970-71 and
facts about the methods of
application and requirements for
admission.
A general information section
contains information on selection
of college courses, the medical,
college admission test, personal
interviews, the medical exami-nation
and the committee on
admissions. Also found in this
section are facts on attendance,
examinations, the grading sys-tem,
the quality-point average,
promotions, withdrawals, dis-missals,
leaves of absence and
irregular and special student.
Other areas covered in the
bulletin are expenses, scholar-ships
and student aid, housing,
health care, student activities
and curriculum.
A tentative first year schedule
is given. It outlines the planned
courses and class times for the
fall, winter and spring quarters.
Lists of the members of the
board of supervisors, executives
of the University system, exec*
tive of the Medical Center and
administrators of both Confeder-ate
Memorial Medical Center
and Shreveport Veterans Admin-istration
Hospital are also in-cluded
in the bulletin.
In addition, there is a list of
the members of the faculty and
of the resident physicians at the
Confederate Memorial Medical
Center.
