The S h r e v e p o r t-Bossier
Foundation, a non-profit or-ganization
which distributes
trust funds, contributed dona-tions
totaling $5,000 to seven
local organizations at the
foundation's 10th a n n u a l
meeting Tuesday.
Foundation grants went to
the Shreveport Association for
the Blind, Inc., $15,500 for a
new mop-head sewing ma-chine;
Volunteers of America,
$1,000 for permanent equip-ment;
Louisiana State Uni-versity
Medical Center Birth
Defects Center, $1,000 for
equipment; Mutual Kinder-garten
School, $500 for con-struction.
Also receiving a check were
the Bridge House of Shreve-port,
Inc., $400 for repairs to
the house; Amanda Clark
Memorial Home, $350 for
chairs; and the Cooper Road
Fire Engine Fund, $250.
Foundation officers for 1971
were announced at the meet-ing.
Robert McLean Jeter will
continue as chairman; James
N. Fritze, vice chairman;
Henry S. Weisman Sr., treas-urer;
Edwin F. Whited, secre-tary,
and Paul E. Hicks,
assistant secretary.
