The Caddo-Bossier Society
of Medical Technologists and
the School of Medical
Technology at Confederate
Memorial Medical Center are
sponsoring a Day of
Continuing Education for
Medical Technologists.
The program will be held
Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:45
p.m. in the auditorium at
Confederate.
There is no registration fee
for the program which will
cover blood banking,
chemistry, microbiology,
h e m a t o l o g y and
radioisotopes.
Speakers and their topics
will be Dr. Warren D.
Grafton, director of the School
of Medical Technology. at
C o n f e d e r a t e , "Cold
Agglutinins as a Problem in
Cross Matching;" Dr. Mary
Wood, chief of the
Department of Nuclear
Medicine at Confederate, "T3,
T4, and T7; Principles and
Clinical Applicatons;" Dr.
Kenneth E. Griswold, director
of clinical chemistry
laboratories at Confederate
and the Veterans
Administration Hospital,
"Newer Concepts in
Intrusmentation in Clinical
Chemistry;" Dr. Ronald
Silberman, director of clinical
microbiology laboratories at
Confederate and the VA,
"Nosocomial Infections: The
Responsibility of the Clinical
Laboratory;''
Also Dr. J. R. Martin,
director of the Board of
Directors of the Shreveport
Emergency Blood Bank,
"Frozen Blood: Its Present
and Future Status for
Transfusion," and Dr. E. R.
Eichner, chief of the
Hematology Section in the
Department of Medicine at
the Louisiana State University
School of Medicine at
Shreveport, "Platelet
Kinetics, Platelet Function
