Participation
The week of Oct. 14-21 has
been designated as Medicine
and Religion Prayer Week
and the Shreveport Medical
Society has adopted a
resolution urging partici-pation
in the observance.
The resolution was proposed
by the Louisiana State
Medical Society Committee on
Medicine and Religion and ap-proved
by the Executive
Committee of the Louisiana
Medical Society. It reads:
"In recognition of the need
for divine guidance for the
men and women in the health
care field, it is recommended
that the houses of worship of-fer
special prayers and
services during the week of
Oct. 14-21 for all those
working in the health
professions who help relieve
human suffering and work for
the preservation of human
life.
"All physicians, dentists,
nurses, nurses' aides, medical
school and nursing school
faculties, medical assistants,
medical students, laboratory
and x-ray technicians, physio
therapists, pharmaceutical
representatives, chaplains,
and all others working in the
health care profession, be
invited to attend."
