BATON ROUGE - Local projects in Caddo am
Bossier Parishes are not part of Gov. Davi
Treen's state construction budget plans for fisca
year 1981-82.
Many of the projects requested by local of
ficials, legislators and civic groups failed to gaii
the gubernatorial stamp of approval Monda;
when Treen unveiled his $834 million capita
outlay proposal.
In addition, a number of state projects fo
Northwest Louisiana were omitted from the gov
ernor's spending plans.
Caddo-Bossier projects not listed in the gov
ernor's budget include: restoration of the Stram
Theater, $2.2 million; improvements at the Stati
Fairgrounds. $1.7 million; a planned incinerato
waste-heat recovery system for Shreveport. $4.0!
million; a regional cultural and economic cente
in Shreveport, $1.38 million: Shrevepor
riverfront development $1.47 million; Cros
Bayou Park in Shreveport, $1 million.
Street lighting on state routes 3194, 526 am
3132, Shreveport, $410,705; an asphalt-cemen
facility, Shreveport. $1.4 million; a new ad
ministration building at LSUS in Shreveport a
$475,000; teundry equipment for LSIJS Medica_
.Center. $750,000, renovation of the State Exhibi
Museum at $500,000.
Caddo Parish jail construction at $6 million
reconstructing ramps at the Greenwood scales it
