Census - 64th General Hospital
Patients admitted in North Africa - 3, 124. Largest number in 24 hours -
342. The largest number evacuated in a single day - 103. Total
number admitted since activation and up to 30 April1944- 4,616.

b (1) 693 French battle casualties admitted. Big problem with sanitation.
(3) Highest patient census for the month- 1. 510. (6 June 1944)
(6) On 28 June were told no more patients to be admitted to this hospital
and start evacuation of 1. 150 patients--200 French to the 27th
Evacuation Hospital. 300 French and 200 Americans to the 3rd
General Hospital and 450 Americans to the 103rd Station Hospital.
The 103rd had to unpack their equipment to admit our patients. There
must not have been too much rejoicing over there!
(7) Highest patient census for the month- 1. 406. (30 June 1944)
From the formal opening of the hospital in Maddaloni. 17 March 1944 to
closing on 25 July 1944, 4, 164 patients were admitted,

990 patients admitted by 31 August 1944. (19 September 1944)
(2) 21 September. 546 patients evacuated by boat.
(3) Largest patient status for the month was on the 19th and totaled 2. 483.
Patient status on 30 September - 2, 097. (20 October 1944)
(3) Largest patient status for the month was on the 19 October and totaled
2. 231. Patient status on the 31st - 2. 041. (14 November 1944)
b (5) Patient status on 30th of November was 1. 730. (19 December 1944)
b (1) Patient status decreased regularly towards the end of month relieving
the continuous heavy load of the hospital personnel. Once again the
hospital began to function as a general hospital. The patient census
on the 31st December was 1. 079. the smallest number of patients
present since the hospital began operation in this area.

b (1) The patient status totaled in the five hundreds for most of the month
and was rather stable. (20 February 1945)
b (2) Patient status during the month once again began to grow. and towards
end of month numbered in the sixteen hundreds. It was a steady and
dradual increase over January's totals which had numbered in the
five hundreds. (21 March 1945)
