Change of Command - 64th General Hospital
Colonel Robert A. Kimbrough. Jr •• MC. having relinquished command of
the neighboring 81st Station Hospital, assumed command of this
installation at 0001 hours. 13 July 1945, replacing Colonel Thomas H.
Reagan, MC, transferred to the 26th General Hospital. (22 August 1945)
On the 20th, Colonel Kimbrough, who had been in charge of the unit only a
few weeks, received orders for trans -shipment to the States. Colonel
Charles J. Miangolarra, MC, Executive Officer and Chief of the
Surgical Service, assumed command upon Colonel Kimbrough's
departure. (24 October 1945)
Colonel Henry R. Carsten, MC, formerly the commanding officer of the
17th General Hospital, assumed command on October 30th from
Colonel Charles J. Mianolarra, MC. (25 November 1945)
