to the Surgical Service.

principal duty as Assistant Detacr~ent Commander.
15 Nurses reported for TD this week.
On 5 June 1944, the 64th General Hospital reorganized on
a permanent change of T/0 from 1000 to 1500 bed hospital. Report submitted
to the Adjutant General.
This week, the first dance for enlisted men overseas ;as
held at the Santa Maria Red Cross. Civilian girls were invited.
Pfc's Meyer, Green and Simon were recommended for rotation
to the United States.
Sunday, 18 June 1944:
Major Weilbaecher, MC, assumed the duties of Acting Executive
Officer this week.
Major Burt is still'in the hospital; condition sati~factory .
Although we have had no news of our departure, tbe ci~iz nc
of Maddaloni have informed us that we leave the first week of Julyll

A9ropoli rest center for one week. They were attached to t:e 24th
General Hospital for the weok.
