| Facilitator Log | 3:00 Marlon talks about how he wanted to 'wear a uniform' since he was a child and could not believe that people actually got paid for doing what he did not see as a job at all. 7:50 Sylva talks about her experience as a mother in a military family. She says her kids are very strong, though they miss their dad. 15:26 Communication is much faster these days, which makes things very different now in Iraq than they were in WWI and WWII, but for Marlon it can be a double-edged sword: He knows what is happening back home sooner, but feels terrible that he can't do anything about it. 19:50 Marlon was at the pentagon during 9/11 and remembers the reaction of the community outside, the restaurants giving food to people, everyone looking out for each other. 25:00 Danielle talks about how she felt when she saw on the news that 'Dads job was on fire.' Marlon was in the Pentagon basement on 9/11. 36: Marlon regrets not being able to come home for his brother's wedding. |
