| Facilitator Log | 7:00 Cecilia lost everything she'd built for 58 years in Hurricane Katrina. Her house, her car, her husband. 18:40 She first met her husband when she saw him do a swan dive off a bridge into the river. She introduced herself at a dance. 22:55 Charles remembers the last fishing trip he took with his dad before he died. 25:17 Charles remembers going to look for the model boats after the hurricane. His dad said, 'if the boats ain't there, we'll find good cypress and build more.' 28:57 His dad built the 40 year old boat that Charles now owns. He taught Charles to build by letting him hold tools and watch. 36:40 Charles stayed on the boat during the storm. He lost hearing in one ear from the wind. He stayed with the boat and saw houses and people float past. He picked up as many people as he could. He lived on the boat for six months. The boat is everything to Charles. |
