She remembers accompanying her brother while he delivered Liberty magazines. 6:20 High School was some of the best years of her life. She walked to school, participated in student counsel, wrote for the school paper. 12:30 Clarisse remembers the white dress she designed and wore for graduation. Her father paid for her brother to attend college but not her. She took exams and earned a scholarship. 16:50 She remembers Pearl Harbor happening during her Sophomore year. She remembers ration coupons for sugar, shoes, tires. 31:50 She lived and worked for three years in Chicago. She lived in a boarding house in a brownstone with other girls. She remembers watching her first snow. |
