1804, November 15 PETITION BY PIERRE HENRY, BATON ROUGE, TO WILLIAM WIKOFF, WEST BATON ROUGE. CD. I p. French. Richmond. To Mr. Wikoff, commandant of the American part of Baton Rouge: Pierre Henry, a planter of your district, has the honor to beg you to order that Mrs. Goudeau pay for the eight cypress trees she took from my land, which have been valued at three piastres each by the syndics. The said Mrs. Goudeau has always, up to the present day, used as an excuse the expected return of Mr. Aubrian [Norris O'Brian] for the said payment. But the unfortunate accident which happened to him prevents now any further delay or excuse. Moreover, I must not sue any other person except the owners, as the late Aubrian had no part in what was done. The claimant hopes that you will be willing to order the payment, according to the law and without delay. PIERRE HENRY
