On behalf of the New Orleans branch of the National Writers* Club, whose members signed the petition which was instrumental in securing Poetry Day for Louisiana, and of myself,-as originator ("founder" is such a pompous word) of the Outdoor Poetry Show in New Orleans, I invite all New Orleanians to the Outdoor Poetry Show, sponsored by National Writers' New Orleans branch to be held in Pirates Alley, this Sunday, Oct. 15, from 10 a. m. to 4 p, m.
Among the poets and aut-hors who have graciously loaned book and pamphlet collections of their poems, are Rev. C, J. Quirk, of Loyola university; Mrs. Stanley Arthur; Mrs. May Fredericks Toney; Dr, George' W. Cooper, on the staff of LSU; , Clement Cook of Rugby Academy, and Mrs, Sarah Mizelle Morgan, past poet laureate of the Grand Order of the Eastern Star for the state of Arkansas,
Among the poets whose works will be shown in poster form are Mrs. W. W. Nash, long ago contributor to New Orleans newspapers and New York magazines; Mrs, Grace Beecham Freeman, contributor to the Saturday Evening Post; both of the Round Table Writers Group; and Miss Amy Boudreau, member of the National Writers Club, many of whose poems have been published; and many others.
Also participating in the show tliis year will be many of the schol children of this city. Mrs. Hans. W. Rasmussen, member of the National Writers Club, has offered two prizes of $5 each for the two best poems in the chil-drens' show.
The poems which will be hung on the fence of the St. Louis Cathedral, will be in poster form, many of them illustrated, and are very colorful — meet the poets poetry.
