Floor area of the Louisiana State university school of medicine will be almost doubled by construction of a proposed eight-floor addition.
The addition,, plans for which have been approved by the university's board of supervisors, will be in the shape of a T and is expected to cost about $2,337,000.
Dr. William W. Frye, dean of the medical school, said Thursday that the new building will add 101,594 square feet for office, classroom and laboratory use. He said the present building contains 115,000 square feet of space. Lifesaver for School
"This annex," he said, "is going to be a lifesaver for the school. We have always been crowded, and with the increased student quota the situation would be impossible by 1952."...Architects for the addition are August Perez & Associates, and Andrey & Feitel, both of New Orleans, and Smith and Padgett, Monroe.
