The Louisiana State Nurses Association, in the closing business session of a four-day meeting at the Jung hotel Thursday, adopted a resolution supporting restoration of state civil service in Louisiana,
The associaton, which held all other sessions of the four-day meet in the Hotel Dieu Nurses home, 420 S. Prieur, also resolved to support ''firm establishment of city civil service in cities having a population of 100,000 by adoption of a self-operative constitutional amendment so that in the future the state and city civil service laws can only be amend-ed or repealed by vote of the people,"
The group also voted to adopt a statewide weekly indemnity and hospitalization plan for nurses, and to plan a polio institute early next spring to prepare nurses for any polio epidemic.
Meeting in conjunction with the Louisiana State Nurses Association were the Louisiana League of Nursing Education and the Louisiana State Organization for Public Health Nurses. They added their vote in support of the resolutions adopted.
A joint board of directors of the three nurses organizations was formed at Thursday's business session to cope with such problems as recruitment of nurses and the seeking of a solution for the nursing service shortage.
At the Thursday morning session in the Hotel Dieu nurses home, officers were elected by the three groups.
