Public Invited to Opening Session of Doctors Tuesday --
The Southern Medical Association will open its 31st annual convention here Tuesday with an expected attendance of 2500 physicians and 1000 guests. The meeting will be the fourth held in New Orleans, the association having met here previously in 1909, 1923 and 1931.
The initial general session of the convention, to be held at the Munic-ipal Auditorium, Tuesday at 8 p. m., will be open to the public and will be the only session of the meeting to which the public will be admitted, it was announced Saturday.
Dr. Lucien A. LeDoux of New Or-leans, general chairman of the convention, will introduce Dr. Frank K. Boland of Atlanta, Ga., president of the association, at the public meeting and the speakers on the program will be the Rev. Alphohse M. Schwitalla, S. J., Ph.D., St. Louis university school of medicine; Dr. Arthur T. McCormack, Kentucky state health commissioner and president of the American Public Health Association; Dr. Seale Harris, Birmingham, Ala,, past president of the association, and Dr. J. Shelton Horsley, Richmond, Va., also a past president of the organization.
