The Item recently printed a series of articles on New Orleans' importance as a medical center.
These articles, written by Miss Lee Davis, a member of The Item's news staff, described New Orleans' vast hospital and laboratory facilities and told of the important research being.done here in many vital fields of medicine.
The series has occasioned the following comments from the heads of the Orleans Parish Medical Society, the city's two medical schools and Touro Infirmary:
