Funeral services for Dr. Joseph A. Danna, prominent New Orleans physician and surgeon for more than a half-century, were held today at the funeral home of Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp, Inc.
A requiem mass at Holy Name of Jesus church was followed by interment in Metalrle cemetery.
Dr. Dana died yesterday at Hotel Dieu. He was 77. He was professor of clinical surgery at the Louisiana State university medical center, senior visiting surgeon at Charity and Hotel Dieu hospitals and consulting surgeon at the Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat hospital.
