The legislative committee of the American Medical Association was reported in New Orleans as being against federal legislation designed to provide an old-lage rehabilitation program covering medical care.
Committee member Dr. John E. McDonald, Tulsa, Okla., told the Orleans Parish Medical Society introduction of the legislation shows a national tendency toward greater socialization.
His remarks regarding the aim of the measure to allow benefits to totally disabled persons were made in an adrdess before the New Orleans medical group at its 179th annual installation dinner.
