No present medicine is effective against the virus that causes the fever blister, or cold sore, according to Dr. C. Ray Womack, assistant professor of medicine and microbiology, who is conducting the study, His as- sociates are Dr. G. John Bud-dingh, professor of microbiology and head of the department, and Dr. D. J. Guidry, instructor in microbiology.
