The chairman of the Citizens Defense Committee for Jefferson parish said Sunday that voters who previously refused to sign a petition for the recall of Sheriff William S. Coci are now lining up behind the ouster movement.
"We have received numerous telephone calls from people who refused to sign the petition when it was circulated in their neighborhoods Friday and Saturday night, but have since changed their minds,'' said Dr, O. R. Depp.
Dr, Depp, who heads the organization spearheading the drive to recall Coci, said he believed an element of fear about signing the petition is waning as the ouster movement becomes more widespread.
