Parents were blamed as a principal cause of emotional trouble in disabled children at a meeting of the Louisiana Conference of Social Welfare,, region No. 10, here today.
In a panel discussion at Grace Episcopal church, Miss Polly Wilson, consultant on crippled children's services at the state health department, said "behavior problems of a handicapped; child are the direct reflection of the behavior of the family."
One hundred five persons from four parishes registered for the morning session of the conference, which is on "Developing Potentials of Individuals Disabled in Early Life." The I meeting closed with an afternoon session. Present at Birth
Dr. Evis Coda, medical director at the Louisiana Evaluation Center, indicated that the par-ent-atitude is impressed on a child's mind even before conscious reasoning and learning begins.
