Doctors and pharmacists must co-operate to prevent unnecessary diseases caused by use of the new "wonder drugs," Dr. Gordon McHardy, New Orleans physician, told pharmacists and students Saturday night.
Speaking at the 21st s annual banquet-dance of the student branch of the American Pharmaceutical association of Loy-i ola university's college of phar-j macy in the St. Charles hotel, the doctor warned of hazards j connected with the use of new drugs.
The banquet also featured presentation of awards to an outstanding pharmacist and to an outstanding pharmacy student and unveiling of a painting of the late dean of Loyola's college of pharmacy, John F. McClos-key.
Dr. McHardy, of the Browne-McHardy clinic, asserted that1 "the new, powerful drugs should not be used except when indications of a need for the drug exceeds the danger." ^^H
