Presentation of the Marcia C. Noyes award for outstanding achievement in medical librarian-ship to William D. Postejl, librarian and professor of medical bibliography, Louisiana State university medical school, was announced here Friday.
The award was presented to Postell at the 57th annual meeting of the Medical Library Association, held in Rochester, Minn.
The association announcement stated that Postell has made significant contributions to the advance of medical library work both in this country and abroad. Postell was termed "an able administrator; " his work at the LSU; medical library, "a fine example, reflecting vision, integrity, co-operation and genuine interest."
In 1955, it was pointed out, the International Co-operation Administration of the secretary of state's office sought his assistance in organizing a library for the college of medicine of the National Taiwan university of Taipei in Formosa.
