If so, coach, better keep an eye on the caffein.
Dr. Carl Dicharry told the. area's prep coaches yesterday that high school athletes don't need any outside stimulant to play "a better game."
The occasion was a conference on sports injuries sponsored by the Orleans Parish Medical Society. The first session was held yesterday morning at the LSU Medical School Auditorium.
DR. DICHARRY, speaking on an athletes' health, recalled a story or a Mississippi coach who gave one of his boys cold capsules.
"The boy came up with a tremendous effort," said Dicharry, '"so the coach figured he'd give the capsules, which had a certain amount of caffein, to the entire team.
* 'He gave them two before the game and two at half-time ... the boys had a lot of pep all right. The fact is they were over stimulated. * * #

and sometimes can cause emotional harm."
Dr. Dicharry said that a vaccine to prevent the common cold is likely to be produced ' 'within the next three years.'*
"This, of course, will be a big help to coaches who should make sure their players receive all the necessary
immunization."
