Assistant Supt. A. P. Rousos quit the staff of the Southeast Louisiana hospital Tuesday after the general practitioner named by Gov. Earl K. Long to head the mental unit refused to resign.
Resignation of Dr. A. P. Rousos, assistant superintendent, darkened what earlier in the day had appeared as a brighter outlook for the turmoil-ridden hospital.
Dr. Rousos said he submitted his resignation to Dr. Jesse Mc-Clendon, hospital superintendent, in a telephone conversation.
Dr. Rousos said he told Dr. McClendon he would resign effective at 2:30 p. m. unless the Long - appointed general physician submitted his own resignation in 30 minutes. ...Resignation of Dr. Rousos left as of Tuesday only one full-time staff psychiatrist, Dr. Elizabeth Faust, who reportedly has been considering resigning.
