Some 600 physicians crowded into Louisiana's capital city Monday for the opening of the 80th annual meeting of the Louisiana State Medical Society.

During the day, the society's house of delegates held a closed session.
During the banquet session, pins and admission to the "50-Year Doctors' Club" will be awarded to physicians who have complet-
ed 50 years of medical practice.
Scientific sessions are scheduled Tuesday, second day of the three-day event. Doctors will meet in a surgical conference and a clinic-pathologic conference.
During the three-day meet, speakers include Dr. VL.~Robyn Hardy, New Orleans, state president; Dr. O. B, Owens, Alexandria, president-elect; Dr. Temple Ainsworth of the University of Mississippi medical school, Jackson, Miss., and Dr. George L. Jordan Jr., chief of the surgical service, veterans administration hospital, Houston, Tex.
