The gynecological aspects of i early cancer detection was among topics discussed here Thursday at the final sessions at Baptist hospital of the three-day Institute for Registered Nurses. ^H
• This was the fifth annual in-istitute and was sponsored by the American Cancer Society as a service for registered nurses of the Orleans, Jefferson and St. Bernard parishes.
Speaking at, Thursday's sessions were Di\. Winston H. \Veese, assistant clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Louisiana State university's school of medicine; Mrs. Jean-nell Montgomery, a clinical instructor in medical surgery nursing, and Sister Mary Anna, director of nursing at DePaul hospital.
Dr. Weese discussed methods of qarly cancer detection. Mrs. Montgomery stressed the importance of nurses being able to recognize the problems encountered by a person with gynecological disorders. Sr. Mary Apimj explained the psj^cjacflogical principles involv^^ nursing! cancerjp^tienls.
