Four youthful hoodlums in a car bearing a stolen license plate held up and robbed a physician in the French Quarter early today and escaped with the doctor's bag containing drugs and a blood pressure apparatus valued at $72.
The victim, Dr. William Og-den, 34, 2315 Jefferson, told Ptn. John Mine and Ptn. Pat Murphy that he was in the 500 block of Dumaine about 12:30 a. m. looking for a residence when the car containing the four hoodlums drove up. j
One of the occupants called out to the doctor inquiring the direction of Dauphine st. As Dr. Ogden walked over to the automobile to give them the requested information, one of the youths pointed a blue steel automatic at him and asked if the bag he was carrying was a doctor's bag.
When the doctor delayed handing over the bag another of the youths pulled out a knife and threatened him. The doctor surrendered the bag and memorized the license number of the car as it pulled away from the curb. . Upon investigating further, police learned that the plate had been reported stolen earlier from a 1957 model station wagon.
