Nineteen New Orleanians will participate next week in the 47th annual clinical congress of the American College of Surgeons in Chicago.
With attendance expected to reach 11,000, the congress is the largest surgical meeting in the world. Sessions running Monday through Friday will feature more than 1200 active program participants.
New Orleanians taking part will be Drs. Harold M. Albert, Mohammad Atik, Woodward D. Beacham, Walter F. Becker, Isidore Conn Jr., Conrad G. Collins, Jason H. Collins, Oscar Creech Jr., Victor R. Goeller, Merrill O. Hines, Edward T. Krementz, Howard Mahorner, Alton Ochsner, John L. Ochsner, Keith Reemtsma, Robert Schramel, Rowena S pen c e r, Neil C. Tappen and John C. Weed.
Every phase of surgery will be presented. The program in-:ludes 258 research-in-progress reports, nine postgraduate courses, 35 panel discussions and symposia, 68 medical films, 14 telecasts of surgical operations and 276 scientific and industrial exhibits.
