Sessions of the 16th annual meetirig of the Louisiana Medical Association terminated here Thursday after election o% officers for the year.
Dr. Louis Ja m e s, Baton Rouge, was elected president-succeeding Dr. Leo S. Butler, Baton Rouge. Dr. A. J. Hackett Jr., New Orleans, was named president-elect of the statewide organization.
Heading an array of lecturers and visiting medical authorities participating in Thursday's scientific clinics and workshops were Dr. Cyril Crocker and Dr. W. Lester Henry, F. A. C. P., both of the Howard university school of medicine, Washington, D. C; Dr. Walter Roberts, New Orleans; and Dr. Joseph M. Epps, department of surgery, Flint-Goodridge hospital.
A clinical session dealt witfr "Cardiac Problems with Electro-cardiographic Interpretation and Treatment," which was presented by Dr. Edgar Hull, F. A. C. P., department of internal medicine, Louisiana State university, and Dr. Waldo B. Bernard, department of medicine, Flint-Goodridge hospital. Ten patients with various cardiac pathologies were observed, studied and diagnosed for prescribed treatments.
Dr. James E. Hines, Alexandria, executive secretary, stated that the association passed a resolution endorsing the Kerr-Mill bill which was endorsed ty
the National Medical Association. The supported bill cover-^g; ;i|edical aid for the aged is the "one presently being used in Louisiana, stated Hines.
