The man with the most volunteer hours at Charity hospital this year is Roy Peters.
Peters, a spot volunteer, who works in different departments when called, received Bars Nos. 9 and 10, representing 1000 hours during the past year at the Charity hospital volunteer advisory committee's annual Recognition Day program for volunteers in the hospital's second floor auditorium.
Altogether Peters has given 5000 hours of volunteer service to the hospital in nine years he has been a volunteer.
There are approximately 10 other men volunteers serving at! Charity this year, Mrs. Buxton Layton Jr., committee chairman, said.
TEEN-AGE VOLUNTEERS
The hospital had an unusually large number of teen-age volunteers last summer, she said, and a group of these teenagers received double awards —a pin for 200 hours and a teen emblem for 75 hours.
Teen volunteers with the mostest volunteer hours are Miss Judith Pierce, Miss Jane Aitkens, Miss Anita Hoover, Miss Sheila George, Miss Frances Gambino, Miss Dolores Coll and Miss Tanya Maddux, and one young man, Richard Dickinson.
They served all their hours in one summer, said Miss Pierce, who works in central service.
One teen volunteer, Miss Catherine Rodriguez, received her first bar for 500 hours.
Among the other teen volun teers were twins, Karla and Koren Heidloff, who receivet teen emblems for 75 hours. BARS PRESENTED
Two advisory committee members received bars. Mrs. John Barr received her sixth bar and Mrs. Robert Bulot was
presented with her third bar. Each bar represents 500 hours. The organization with the most volunteers at Charity this year is the Greek Orthodox I Cathedral Ladies, headed by Mrs. Despina Bombelis, This group of volunteers gave more than 2000 hours this past year. Some 29 organizations received certificates for 100 hours or more, but there are 50 groups working as volunteers at Char-\ ity, Mrs. Layton said.
II The woman with the most! volunteer hours at Charity is' Mrs. Florence G'sell, who received Bars Nos. 20, .21, and 22, each representing 500 hours. Altogether, she has given 11,000 hours to the hospital as a volunteer in the reclaimed gauze room.
A small army of close to 2200 volunteers gave 71,897 hours to the hospital last year in some 50 departments, the chairman pointed out.
Awards were presented to some 200 volunteers by John W. Bowen, vice-president of the hospital's board of directors.
Mrs. Esmond Fatter brought a message from Mrs. Victor Schiro, wife of the mayor. She was scheduled to be the keynote speaker.
