A series of discussions designed to provide professional guidance for parents will begin at Ligouri auditorium Friday night. .
A sociologist, a pediatrician, a child psychiatrist and juvenile court judges will be among the speakers at five sessions in the Parents Institute.
Redemptorist church parish is sponsoring the institute as an educational program for parents of the church neighborhood. Parents Invited
The Rev. Raymond A. Gaydos, C.Ss.R., Redemptorist parish pastor, said all interested parents are invited to attend.
Dr. erry Howard, sociology professor from Louisiana State university at New Orleans, will speak at the first session at .8:15 p. m. Friday. The auditorium is at 2033 Constance.
Dr. Howard will discuss influences which shape and color a child's attitude toward life.

March 1—Dr. John Roitzech, clinical psychologist, LSU school of medicine, discussion of school failures, successes and their, causes.
April 5—Edith Schulhofer, social worker, Tulane, university school of social work, suggestions on how parents can cope with their, children's destructive tendencies. Panel Discussion the program on May 3 will be
a panel discussion on problems of delinquent children. Juvenile court Judge Leo B. Blessing will serve as moderator. Taking part in the discussion will be John Wall, a former juvenile court probation, officer now teaching at Tulane school of social work; Eloise LeBauve, visiting teacher supervisor, with the Orleans parish school board, and Mildred Fossi-er, child welfare worker, Milne Boys Home.
All meetings will begin at 8:15 p. m.
Rev Gaydos said a group of trained social workers, headed by Miss Lynn Wheatley, will be available for consultation with parents after each session.
Miss Estella Schwarze, clinical social worker with the social service department of Charity hospital, is general chairman for the program. Assessor Richard F. Burke is promotion chairman.
