The New Orleans Academy of Ophthalmology has presented a $5,000 gift to the Louisiana State University School of Medicine library.
A check in that, amount was presented to Dr. William W. Frye, vice-president of LSU and dean of the medical school, bv Dr. Leon Hart, secretary of the New Orleans Academy of Ophthalmology and clinical assistant professor of ophthalmol* the LSU medical
ogy at school.
Dr. Hart said the $5,000 is to be used to enrich the library through the purchase of periodicals, journals and specific texts in the field of ophthalmology.
In presenting the check Dr Hart said: "Our academy is a nonprofit educational organization whose paramount aim is the enhancing of education in the field of study concerned with the diseases of the eye.
"We are certain this -gift will assist the academy in its overall objective and we are happy to have the opportunity to assist LSU in its mission of education in medicine."
Dr. Frye termed the gift "a truly representative manifestation of the aims and accomplishments of the academy." PHOTO: DR.
