The body of a New Orleans man was found about 2:30 p. m. Saturday in Jefferson parish, an apparent suicide, parish authorities reported.
He was Identified as Earl Drew Bruce, 23, an employee of Crippled Children's Hospital here. A hospital spokesman said Bruce was a medical student who was associated with the hospital under its extern program.
A spokesman for the Jefferson parish coroner's office said the body was found in the man's .automobile,;, parked on Mississippi river ■ batture, West Bank
about three miles upriver from the Huey P. Long Bridge.
He said the death appeared to have resulted from asphyxiation. An autopsy will be performed Sunday.
Bruce was reported as a missing person to New Orleans police earlier by his brother, Dr. J. E. Bruce, Port Sulphur. Earl Bruce had been missing from the hospital since Friday night.
