A New Orleans nurse will be chosen to reign as ''General Duty Nurse of the Year" at a banquet to be held at 7:30 tonight at the Louisiana State Uni-
versity School of Medicine cafe-
teria.
The banquet will climax the ;hird annual competition held by the general duty section of the New Orleans District Nurses Association among hospital staff nurses in the city.
SPECIAL NURSING commit-j tees have nominated nine New Orleans general duty nurses for the title. The nominees have been judged by a committee of professional nurses and the winner will be named at tonight's banquet.
Mrs. Marlys Heindel, the 1963 "General Duty Nurse of the Year," will name her successor.
MISS BETTY J. AUCOIN,
head nurse at Ochsner Foundation Hospital and chairman of the 1964 Awards Committee, will preside.
Nominees are Mrs. Marjorie Peters, West Jefferson General Hospital; Miss Judy Dugas, Hotel Dieu; Mrs. Mae B. Rockel, Touro Infirmary; Mrs. Barbara Mahoney, Ochsner Foundation; Mrs. Willie B. Talley Warner, Charity jHospital; Miss Naomi Clement,1 Veterans Administration Hospital; Mrs. Rebecca Gonzales, Mercy Hospital; Miss Maretta Ann McDonald, Eye Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital, and Mrs. Susanne Byars, De Paul Hospital.
