Mrs. Naomi Clement of the Veterans Administration Hospital is the new "General Duty Nurse of the Year" in the New Means area.
She was judged the outstanding general duty nurse among staff nurses from nine New Orleans hospitals in annual competition held by the general duty section of the New Orleans District Sfurses Association.
MRS. CLEMENT received the award during a banquet last night at the Louisiana State
University School of Medicine.
Mrs. Clement's award was a large loving cup, presented her by Mrs. Marlys Heindel, winner of the title last year.
MRS. CLEMENT joined the nursing staff of Veterans Administration Hospital in 1959 after serving as general duty nurse and head nurse at St. Patrick's Hospital in Lake Charles.
She joined the nursing staff at St. Patrick's shortly after receiving her BACHELOR of science in nursing degree from Northwestern State College in 1957.
