The outstanding hospital staff nurse in the New Orleans area will be named Monday during an awards banquet at 7:30 p. m. m the Louisiana State University
School of Medicine cafeteria.
rne panquet will climax the ihird annual "General Duty NTurse of the Year" competition held by the general duty section of the New Orleans Districi Nurses Association among hospital staff nurses in New Orleans.
Nine general duty nurses have been nominated for the title of "General Duty Nurse of the Year" by special nursing committees of their respective hospitals. Nominees have been judged by a committee of professional nurses and the winner will be named at the awards banquet.
She will receive the aware from Mrs. Marlys Heindel, stafi nurse at the Bye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital, winner of the
1963 "General Duty Nurse of the Year" award.
Miss Betty J. Aucoin, head nurse at Ochsher Foundation Hospital and chairman of the
1964 awards committee, will preside.
