Two New Orleans brothers will set a precedent here Friday when they receive doctor of medicine degrees from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. They are Alvin Simon Merlin and Carl
gamuel Merlin. ^Kev will be the
first brothers to receive LSU medical degrees at the same commencement.
Alvin is three years older than Carl and both are graduates of the Alcee Fortier Senior High School in New Orleans.
Alvin attended Tulane, LSU in Baton Rouge, the University of Alabama and LSUNO prior to entering the School of Medicine. Carl studied pre-medicine at Tulane and Loyola. Both will serve internships at Charity Hospital here.
