Awards for cancer instruction and cancer control projects totaling $29,941 have been granted two New Orleans medical agencies, the United States Public Health service announced Monday in Washington.
Louisiana State university's school of medicine was the recipient of a grant of $19,941, which Dr. Vernon W. Lippard dean, said would be used to increase personnel in departments of cancer instruction and research and would enable the school to co-operate with local hospitals in the early detection and treatment of cancer.
