More than 300 scientists from around the world will gather in New Orleans Sunday for the opening of a five-day conference of the four national societies dedicated to studies and research in tropical medicine.
Tulane and Louisiana State universities are sponsoring the
meeting which will be attended by international figures in tropical medicine from the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Japan, Panama, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Greece, and Lebanon.
The four groups meeting are the National Malaria Society, the American Society of Tropical Medicine, the American Academy of Tropical Medicine and the American Society of Parasitologists.
The groups are meeting jointly for the first time.
