Baton Rouge, La., Oct. I—The supervisors of Louisiana State university Saturday cleared the way for expansion of the medical school building in New Orleans and accepted $162,725 in grants and donations, mostly for medical research and instruction.
The board of supervisors, meeting here, approved an agreement with the board of
the New Orleans Charity hos- pital for an exchange of real
estate.
Either party has the right from now until Sept. 1, 1952, to initiate the exchange, and supervisors were told the decision would de-pend on what building funds became available. If the exchange is carried out, the university will acquire the site of its present medical school building, now owned by the hospital, plus additional adjoining ground on Tulane ave. It will give in exchange approximately the same area of ground which it owns on Gravier st.
