The medical schools of Tulane and Louisiana State universities are included in contract negotiations with the Atomic Energy Commission for 34 new research projects in biology and medicine at schools, hospitals and private laboratories.
AEC announced negotiation of the contracts Saturday in Washington. The projects, bringing the total to 194, are financed from a $5,000,000 fund.
Dr. Ralph W. Brauer, assistant professor . of pharmacology, will head the LSU project—research to determine the value of radioactive substances in diagnosing liver diseases.
Dr. W. W. Frye, dean of the LSU medical school, said the contract was for ''between $5000 and $6000."
